Barbering requires more than completing a haircut. It demands technical control, sanitation discipline, communication, consistency, time management, and the ability to build trust with real clients.
Empire connects those responsibilities in one structured training experience. No prior barbering experience is required; students progress from foundational theory and safety into supervised practical skill development.

Safe professional practice
Develop daily habits for sanitation, infection control, tool safety, station setup, client protection, and professional conduct.
Client readiness
Practice consultation, communication, service flow, timing, finishing, and the standards that help earn long-term client trust.
Business awareness
Study personal branding, client retention, pricing awareness, shop operations, professionalism, and career preparation.
Full-time day option
Monday–Thursday
8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Planned at 32 clock hours each week, with a one-hour non-instructional lunch excluded from clock hours, for an estimated completion time of approximately 17 weeks.
Part-time evening option
Monday–Thursday
5:00 PM–10:00 PM
Planned at 20 clock hours each week, with no scheduled meal break, for an estimated completion time of 27 weeks.

Training in the heart of Albany.
Empire Barber & Beauty Training Center is located at 40 Steuben St, Albany, NY 12207. The program is designed to serve aspiring barbers from Albany, Troy, Schenectady, Colonie, and communities throughout the Capital Region.
